Guilty of gaining few pounds over the Thanksgiving Holiday?

Don’t worry, you’re not the only one. According to the New England Journal of Medicinethe average American gains about two pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. You have been binge eating on so much food this holiday season that now you completely want to ignore food for weeks. Don’t do yourself any harm by gaining more weight.

Recognizing weight gain is the first step in itself. You my friend have already done that. If you can make up your mind to achieve realistic goals by introducing few easy and funny changes to your lifestyle. You will be able to lose 2 pounds of Thanksgiving Weight in a hilarious to-do-list. If you’re able to do seven of the recommendations; you could lose those extra pounds in a matter of weeks.

1. Don’t be Amy Schumer for leftovers


After holidays you need to get rid of all the thanksgiving food sitting in your refrigerator. Leftovers tempt your brain into eating more of holiday dishes resulting in you gaining weight. Start your Thanksgiving weight loss plan by removing all the biscuits, cookies and cake. Replace them by fruits, vegetables and healthy snacks. Stick to the plan. The plan will work only if you’ve no more temptations.

2. Be like Oprah. Have fresh cooked food at home.


Just pull yourself together and stop piling unhealthy calories. Dining out will result in you eating butter dipped vegetables and whole lot of unhealthy. Solution: Be like Oprah. We all want to be.Cook your own food if possible with your own home grown veggies. Have fresh and healthy food straight from your kitchenshelf. Imagine Oprah wanting all of us to be healthy, then I’ll get a Zucchini, You’ll get a Zucchini, Everyone will get a Zucchini.

3. Win Oscar for weight loss ? Drink too much water.


Dehydration could be a reason that keeps you munching on food. Most of the times you feel hungry but you don’t realize that you might be feeling thirsty. If you are not sipping enough water you won’t feel full. Moreover, it is advisable to drink a glass of water before meals. Also this clear liquid will flush out toxins and all the bad stuff that you’ve been eating as holiday food.

4. Cut back on sodium. Repel as Ed Norton does.


Salt causes water retention and leaves you feeling swollen and bloated. You can shed water weight and get leaner, toned muscles by using low sodium recipes. Often times people who are ordinarily skinny and have a bloated face or a double chin or chubby cheeks often have lots of facial fat and bloating due to a high salt diet. 5. Eat more fiber.

Before reading more into fibers. Always keep in mind weight loss plans are executable but you need to ready yourself for a complete change in lifestyle. Supplementing your diet with high fiber can boost weight loss. Also, chopped fresh veggies, cucumbers, blueberries, beans, ensures that you’ll have something to snack on without feeling guilty. High fiber foods will make you feel full and last longer on weight control.

What makes executing weight loss plan difficult for you and everyone else is the willpower. Many studies point out that a normal craving for food will last for ten minutes at maximum. 8. Rearrange a Room.


We all have cousins who’ll eat a lot of thanksgiving food but never show up for cleaning. Don’t frown. Let me explain, rearranging a room for 60 minutes can help you burn 500 calories. It’s a great source of exercise. So, who wants to rearrange a room ?

9. Stay-at-home Mom! Exercise 15 more minutes, Wonder Woman!


Mothers, they deserve all of our love and adoration.  If you are a stay-at-home Mom then girl you get ready to fight it out with the world. Just don’t let anybody push you down. Let’s climb up those stairs. Let’s lose this Thanksgiving Weight. Let’s get the jogging shoes out because we are going to exercise for 15 more minutes! 10. Dance it off like Ellen.


It’s funny, dancing to your favorite beats stimulates your brain as well as helps you in losing dirty holiday weight that you never asked for. If all those extra pounds are making you feel guilty and less motivated. Then Shut Up cringing and put on your dancing shoes. Shake it up like Ellen does walking, sitting, standing……..Cause’ honey there’s no song that you can’t dance to. Dancing at home alone will keep you moving and help you stay fit and in active mode for quick weight loss.

11. No More Soda! No More Alcohol! Just juice it up.


It is rather a known fact that fluids don’t satisfy your appetite as much as solid food does.
